Winter?

Four days after it looked like this when I left the field, it snowed: our first big snow of the year. That was on the 10th, four days later than the first big snow of last year.
The following morning, it looked like this when I went to work...
...and like this when I arrived. Not very thick, but persistent nevertheless.
The morning after that, yesterday, with fresh snow on my windshield...
...the sun was trying to come through the clouds, but never really made it for more than a few minutes all day long.
Prior to this snow, the leaves were just starting to turn yellow across the street from our little house; now they are green and brown, just hanging on the trees.

And I hear it's supposed to keep snowing! I'm already in long johns and layers, and I have my pack boots ready.

Nice snow!

Although, I would have been happy with a little less wind.

Horizontal snow isn't my favorite either! It was 19 degrees F this morning - fortunately no wind. And maybe the snowstorm is gone for now!

I hope it's a bit warmer where you are!!

It is so far. In fact, we've had near record highs the past few days. It's only a matter of time though. Winters where I live are not pleasant in nearly everyone's opinion.

Yeah, I can imagine that you get plenty of horizontal snow and other nasty, icy conditions. Yuck! :(
