Long road indeed :)
Out there in the valley, where you can't really see it anymore, it turns to pavement, and goes on even longer and longer, until it finally reaches Highway 50. Finally. And it was less than 10 miles than going the "direct" way. And much, much more scenic. Probably an hour longer, though.
I'd hate to have my car break down in the middle of that valley
Reminds me of Death Valley.
Gaelyn, fewer people than D.V., more sagebrush! :)I saw no one on that road after leaving Ruby Valley and Bald Mountain, which were just to the north, behind me.I did, however, see a small band of possibly wild horses.
Glacialtill, that's why I had my SPOT with me. Along with food, water, and a sleeping bag.
Looks pretty cool to me. Basin and Range country par excellant.
whooops...par excellance...anyway, love your blog.
