You can drive here by heading east on Highway 50 from Fallon, NV, going past Sand Mountain, and through the south end of Dixie Valley. Access to the scarps by dirt road is marked with a sign, "Earthquake Faults."<BR/><BR/>And I wouldn't really recommend camping in the area in February! Was this another Slemmon's field trip? E.R. Larsen, back in his day, was famous for having very rough and cold campsites on some of his Geology of Nevada field trips.Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131032620978696727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-58602225300762340752008-03-03T22:13:00.000-08:002008-03-03T22:13:00.000-08:00I am guessing that it might be Fairview Peak, site...I am guessing that it might be Fairview Peak, site of the big earthquakes of 1958? It does run all the way from Canada into Mexico!<BR/><BR/>MOH already knows the answer, but isn't responding - too busy working! I'll wait a bit before offering up any more clues.Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131032620978696727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-54172268595276213532008-03-02T23:30:00.000-08:002008-03-02T23:30:00.000-08:00Is it cheating to answer "Basin and Range"?Is it cheating to answer "Basin and Range"?McMootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17155680513510901748noreply@blogger.com
