We have to buy them almost ready to ripen in June, although we tried indoors from scratch this year, and that was worse than last year. What we need is our own greenhouse, and space for the greenhouse, besides!

Glad yours are doing so well!Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131032620978696727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-30836524721269302652010-09-08T20:54:58.277-07:002010-09-08T20:54:58.277-07:00Glacialtill, thanks for the idea about pie filling...Glacialtill, thanks for the idea about pie filling. Portland's weather just hasn't cooperated enough to allow for ripening. I do have a nice recipe for spiced green tomatoes that make for an excellent pie filling. I do like the suggestion for frying them, also. You can just batter them like fish and fry them in oil.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-88620119088669745432010-09-05T12:52:33.045-07:002010-09-05T12:52:33.045-07:00Brilliant - I'm so glad it's doing well!Brilliant - I'm so glad it's doing well!Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04695173188736074202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-1722320890870882702010-09-04T20:00:50.525-07:002010-09-04T20:00:50.525-07:00Gaelyn, do you just fry them up plain in the fryin...Gaelyn, do you just fry them up plain in the frying pan, or do you use some special batter?Silver Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131032620978696727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-25505575316360670382010-09-04T18:28:50.561-07:002010-09-04T18:28:50.561-07:00Oh I sure do like your garden choices.
