I always thought Wheeler Peak got a bum rap as the second highest peak in Nevada...Boundary Peak is just a knob on the side of a higher mountain in California. They should have traded a few acres and leave Boundary in California so Wheeler could enjoy some more attention. Great Basin National Park is a mostly under-appreciated treasure.Garry Hayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00531226195147986457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-20845002110922032222008-07-01T09:05:00.000-07:002008-07-01T09:05:00.000-07:00Silver Fox - You are so lucky to be there! I try and camp in the Rubies (Lamoille Cyn) whenever possible, and miss both my field camp and vacationing experiences in the Schell Creek Range, the Snake Range, and the White Pine Range. I also spent time with my ex in his field camp down near Pioche and Caliente. I'm in and near some pretty awesome mountains where I am now, but really enjoyed my time and experiences in Nevada and have very fond memories of those areas. I hope you have a magnificent time!coconinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12050625735753145388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8693614218792476252.post-50639319124276295732008-07-01T04:26:00.000-07:002008-07-01T04:26:00.000-07:00Excellent post, you make me homesick for the west....Excellent post, you make me homesick for the west. Even though I've worked on rocks from the Snake Range (and Deep Creek range to the south), I've never had a chance to actually visit, which is obviously borderline unforgivable!Thermochronichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08606230819461771700noreply@blogger.com
