A Clue - Where in the West, March

This won't really be much of a clue, but while looking at a nearby area on Google Earth today, I noticed that when yesterday's unknown mountain is viewed at a low angle similar to the photos I took and from the same locations, that it really looks identicle. I didn't know that you could get such realistic 3-D effects from Google Earth at such a low angle. I didn't know one would be able to find this mountain with Google Earth.

Another minor hint. This mountain can be seen for miles.

Where in the West - March

This mountain--seen here from both sides, the east and the west--can be viewed easily from a major road, and is well known for a particular geologic feature. There's a kind of fractal quality to the western "foothills" and alluvial fans, which I find interesting, and which show up well with a low sun angle.

One Word: Mud

It's good to be back at our little house after my first day at work in about 10 days. As you can see, it's muddy outside the house, in this no-frills driveway of ours. And as for work, this photo from Office of Redundancy Office is a lot like what it looks like where I work.

The way I look at my schedule, today was Monday for me. Then, depending on how many days I work in a row - usually from 10 to 20 - I will have a long string of Tuesdays, followed by one Wednesday or "hump day," after which I'll have a long string of Thursdays, finally followed by one Friday. Tomorrow is Tuesday. For MOH, because he works a "Super Seven" schedule (popular at many mines), tomorrow is Friday for him, and Saturday will be his next Monday.
