Out there in the valley, where you can't really see it anymore, it turns to pavement, and goes on even longer and longer, until it finally reaches Highway 50. Finally.

And it was less than 10 miles than going the "direct" way. And much, much more scenic. Probably an hour longer, though.

Gaelyn, fewer people than D.V., more sagebrush! :)

I saw no one on that road after leaving Ruby Valley and Bald Mountain, which were just to the north, behind me.

I did, however, see a small band of possibly wild horses.

Glacialtill, that's why I had my SPOT with me. Along with food, water, and a sleeping bag.
