A quick post to follow on with the alluvial fans of Clastic Detritus and Dynamic Earth: an alluvial fan on Highway 50 in Newark Valley, just a bit east of the turnoff to Fishcreek, Duckwater, and Currant. Here, the light green fan surface is being downcut by the darker green, slightly incised active washes.
P.S. It's spring, so it's about as green as it gets in the above photo.
