A quick post to follow on with the alluvial fans of Clastic Detritus and Dynamic Earth: an alluvial fan on Highway 50 in Newark Valley, about one mile west of the turnoff to Strawberry (S.R. 892) just about four miles east of the turnoff to Fishcreek, Duckwater, and Currant (Google Maps location of the fan). The light green fan surface is being downcut by the darker green, slightly incised active washes.
P.S. It's spring, so it's about as green as it gets in the above photo.
